Optimization of Blade Position on an Asymmetric Pre-Swirl Stator Used in Container Ships

چکیده
Owing to environmental regulations, ships are equipped with a pre-swirl stator (PSS), which is one of the most effective energy-saving devices (ESDs) that widely applied various kinds ships. It improves energy efficiency by recovering rotational kinetic propeller aid PSS placed in front propeller. In this study, an asymmetric system 2500 TEU eco-friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel feeder container ship, aimed at optimizing position blades, using potential-based program. Additionally, parametric study was conducted for evaluating optimum pitch angle and blade spacing. STAR-CCM+ used validating final design. The Samsung towing tank large cavitation tunnel were also utilized verify improvement performance proposed PSS. Although gain not largely affected optimization, pressure fluctuation issues addressed improving in-flow Therefore, spacing optimization important whose very significant, especially relatively high-speed commercial vessels.
